Subscription Box Corner: May 2016's Flicker Box Review!

TWO UPDATES IN A ROW??? You're not dreaming! I've got a new computer and it's fast as balls...ok, that's not so nice, but it's true! It might be fast, but I lost all of my old and recent photos when I reformatted my old PC.  :(  This one is a Dell, so hopefully I'll have better luck with it than I did with my Toshiba.

I'm here to bring you my review for the May 2016 Flicker Box! I'll be honest, these are not the best photos because I took them on my old phone and when it was being a pest during its last days before it crapped out on me. Sorry they are so dark!
I loooooooooooove the card this month!
A summary of what's in the box!
Three wonderful candles, two new to me vendors!
THAT LABELING THOUGH.
I have been fortunate enough to try Wood & Wax Co. before, and I received one of their candles in a different subscription box at some point. Unlike other woodwick vendors, theirs aren't as loud, which I simultaneously don't mind and mind. I like my woodwick candles to be noticeable in sound, otherwise, what's the point? And sometimes, I can't hear anything from this one. No matter, I guess, it's mostly about performance! Jasmine is the front and center note of this bad boy. It's lovely, and not too strong, which puts people off of jasmine sometimes. A solid choice for a medium-throw woodwick!
Candelaria is a new to me vendor. I absolutely LOVE the way they present their products. Look at that amazing label! The sleek black candle holder is gorgeous. And, it came with a candle coaster with an intricate webbed design. You can see it if you click the link for this vendor. I use it for everything. This Stardust candle smells exactly like pink sugar to me, and I LOVVVVE IT. It is strong, and almost gone, LOL. I have burned it consistently and haven't really gotten any major tunneling that more time burning can't fix. Amazing candle, I have my eye on this vendor.
LITERARY CANDLES! YES! Emily Bronte, they say. Delicate! Hearth & Hammer gave us a Moonlit Moors soy wax candle with one wick. It's got violet and musk, and it's very dainty, almost a perfumey floral. It's not my favorite scent, but the burn is incredible and the throw is just as good! I've burned it 3 times, once in the kitchen. I will keep my eye on this vendor, too, as they have many other scents I'm interested in trying!

Subscription Box Corner: May 2016's Vellabox Review!

Hi all! Better late than never??

It's been a while since I've made a subscription box post, but I want to get back into the swing of things. Usually, when candle mail comes, I am so excited, I rip the package apart and light the sucker before I have a chance to take a proper picture! I'm sure you don't want to see sooty, used wicks, right? Well, if you do, let me know because I'll be more than happy to oblige. ;)
The box, as usual!
On the inside of each box every month, there's a little photo card with a really cool quote printed on it. I love the one for May! So cheerful and uplifting!
The full innards! AGHHH! Love that spring look to it!
Love me some KIND bars! This one was delicious. Anything vanilla and anything almond are a-okay with me! You're lucky you got picture of this bad mamajama!
The candle every month comes wrapped in cloth, which is a touch I absolutely adore! I try to save the cloth pieces if I remember, they serve as really nice backgrounds for my photos. ;)
Chi Candles is a company I have never heard of. I love discovering new brands from these candle subscription boxes! Their label is so cool, very elegant and chic!
The bottom of the candle features instructions and the scent name: fig and sage!
This candle smells incredible. The fig is that earthy, deep, dark fig, not the super fruity, warm one from Bath and Body Works. True fig lovers must apply. The sage is herbal, in your face, and intense! These two scents mix together to create a mature, intoxicating blend. I've burned this candle twice so far and the burn has been nice and even. Both times, it made our house smell like a lush forest, slightly damp, but very alluring. Josh liked this one, too! I think I will save the rest of this for Christmas as the combination of scents is really reminiscent of that holiday.
Here's April 2016's Vellabox. I am STILL in love with this company and their awesome subscription boxes! If you like candles at all, sign up for them. They are the company with different tiers, and you can choose which you want based on how much you want to spend. Nifty! I think I need to bite the bullet and upgrade to their highest plan...every single month, it seems like the candles in their highest package are the ones I want the most! :P

I thought I had released this box review, but I guess I didn't. Thanks for sticking with me, everyone! <3

Band of Bloggers: Vol. 7 / July 2016

Summer 2016 is officially here for all of us in the Northern Hemisphere! Longer days, abundant sunshine, warm weather and fun activities will hopefully keep us busy and happy during the months ahead.

This month the Band Of Bloggers will be sharing their favorite summer memory or tradition as well as the one scent or blend that we most associate with summertime.
When it comes to summer, the quintessential scent for me is watermelon anything and watermelon everything. I just can't get enough of it! It's sweet, fresh, fruity, bursting with wonderful whiffs of summertime. My favorite summer memory is the summer before my friends and I all went off to college. We'd wake up early, stay up late, eat crappy tacos from Jack in the Box, listen to Blue Oyster Cult and jam out, scream at people from the car window (hey, at least we weren't destructive!), smoking the hookah in our buddy's backyard, going to the beach all day every day, walking at the park and cracking jokes....just being young! Those were the good ol' days.
