BzzAgent: Green Mountain Coffee Fair Trade Certified Campaign!

I'M IN, I'M IN!!!!!!!!
BzzAgent is one of my favorite companies to test products and give my honest opinions about them. When I got an email about Green Mountain Coffee's campaign for their fair trade certified coffee, I jumped at the chance, took their "entrance" survey, and was accepted! YAY!!

If you've read my blog in the last 6 months, you'll know my hubby bought me a Keurig for my birthday this year and I LOVE IT! I am so very excited to be part of this campaign. I'll be updating the blog again when I receive my package from BzzAgent!

As far as fair trade coffee goes, I must admit, I had heard of it before, but didn't fully understand what it was, what it meant. Basically, coffee bean farmers are given a fair wage for their products (the beans), allowing them to invest their money not only in continued growth of their farms and harvests, but in their communities, families, and their futures. This gives the coffee bean farmers a better quality of life while simultaneously giving consumers a great cup of coffee!

Lightning Round Reviews #14!

I CAN ALMOST THROW AWAY ALL MY MISCELLANEOUS MELTS! WOOHOO!!
Hearts & Tarts Cherry Cookie (Frosted Sugar Cookie Cherry Bomb???)
Cold Rating: 6.5/10
Lit Rating: 3/10
Throw Rating2/10
Overall Rating3/10; this scent cold smells awesome, very nice. On warm throw, I got basically nothing. No throw, no scent, and this was a hand-sized cookie. Sadness. Not a repurch.
Hearts & Tarts Sour Watermelon Candy
Cold Rating6/10
Lit Rating: 7/10
Throw Rating6/10
Overall Rating6/10; a very lovely sour watermelon candy! I like this, it's pretty awesome. Repurch!
Hearts & Tarts Pink Sugar + Shayz Scentz' Pink Nog
Cold Rating6/10
Lit Rating: 6/10
Throw Rating6/10
Overall Rating6/10; super pink sugar plus a tiny bit of noggy spice. I blended and it was pretty nice, but not a repurchase of either scents. I can get pink sugar elsewhere and didn't really care for pink nog by itself.
Hidden Gems Wax's Down by the Bay
Cold Rating5.5/10
Lit Rating: 6/10
Throw Rating6/10
Overall Rating6/10; my first melt from this company, from the Simply Sensational Sampler. I made the mistake of melting this in the kitchen, and I'm sure it would have performed much better in a smaller space. It was a nice floral and beachy scent. Perfect for the end of summer. Possible purchase?
BeauxSavonsFrais' Wildberry Mallow Fried Ice Cream
Cold Rating6/10
Lit Rating: 5/10
Throw Rating5/10
Overall Rating5/10; I didn't like the fried ice cream part of this scent when warming, but the wildberry mallow is awesome. Throw could have been a bit bigger. Not a purch.
Pics, Petals & Scents Cherry Koolaid
Cold Rating3/10
Lit Rating: 3/10
Throw Rating3/10
Overall Rating3/10; I didn't like this AT ALL. Ew. It smelled light cherry cough syrup and luckily it wasn't strong. Yikes. Not a repurchase.
Crabby Candle Co.'s Bailey's In Bed
Cold Rating5/10
Lit Rating: 5/10
Throw Rating5/10
Overall Rating5/10; there was an overly chocolate note in this, though it did smell like Bailey's Irish Cream. Okay, but not a repurchase. Middle of the road, IMO.
Crabby Candle Co.'s Cactus & Sea Salt
Cold Rating6/10
Lit Rating: 6/10
Throw Rating6/10
Overall Rating6/10; so, so good. Definite repurchase. The cotton candy from BL meshed so well with pink sugar...so lovely and just what I needed!
Can-Do-Candles China Rain
Cold Rating: 6.5/10
Lit Rating: 6.5/10
Throw Rating7.5/10
Overall Rating6.5/10; awesome throw on this. Very rainy and lovely. Good on cleaning day!
Can-Do-Candles Sugar Beans
Cold Rating: 5/10
Lit Rating: 6/10
Throw Rating6/10
Overall Rating6/10; this is a pretty good VBN dupe, but not my favorite. That being said, the throw on this was good, and it was nice!
Sugar Pie Scents' Cactus & Sea Salt
Cold Rating6/10
Lit Rating: 6/10
Throw Rating6/10
Overall Rating6/10; a pretty good version of cactus and sea salt! I shoulda melted this in a smaller room, though. Oh well!

Have a good week friends!

Lightning Round Reviews #13!

I'm almost out of these damn empties. Good golly, they are strewn about the house.
Butterfly Lane Scents' Hillbilly Homebrew
Cold Rating6/10
Lit Rating: 5/10
Throw Rating: 5/10
Overall Rating5/10; this smelled great cold, but fizzled fast once being warmer. This was about a year old, so maybe that's why, but it smelled better cold.
Butterfly Lane Scents' Pink Cotton Candy
Cold Rating8/10
Lit Rating: 7/10
Throw Rating7/10
Overall Rating7/10; so, so good. Definite repurchase. The cotton candy from BL meshed so well with pink sugar...so lovely and just what I needed!
Butterfly Lane Scents' Pink Cotton Candy
Cold Rating8/10
Lit Rating: 8/10
Throw Rating: 7.5/10
Overall Rating8/10; a fabulous blend of pink sugar and serendipity! STRONG! Huge bundt cakes. Love this scent. Unable to get more since BL is always closed it seems like. :(
K's Kreations Loopy Coconut Cookie Bread
Cold Rating6/10
Lit Rating: 5.5/10
Throw Rating6/10
Overall Rating6/10; good, but not a repurchase for me. The fruit loops and coconut went well together, and the cookie bread is a fan favorite from K's, but too bready for me.
K's Kreations Strawberry Bliss + Orchid Lake Candles Serendipity
Cold Rating8/10
Lit Rating: 8/10
Throw Rating8/10
Overall Rating8/10; AMAZING combo! Loved this! It was like a super sweet, strawberry serendipity. YUM!
Lasting Scent Candles Buttermint Candy
Cold Rating4/10
Lit Rating: 4/10
Throw Rating4/10
Overall Rating4/10; not very strong, and also not very good. Something in this was not right, and it didn't smell overly like buttermint candies. Maybe I just waited too long to melt it? Either way, not a repurchase.

Lasting Scent Candles Serendipity
Cold Rating7/10
Lit Rating: 7/10
Throw Rating7/10
Overall Rating7/10; great serendipity blend! Wish it had more cherry, but overall, medium high scent all around.
Lasting Scent Candles Snow Flurries
Cold Rating6/10
Lit Rating3/10
Throw Rating3/10
Overall Rating3/10; the cold sniff scent alone was enough to put this at a 3, math be damned. EW. It smelled like a nice vanilla mint scent on cold sniff, perhaps with wintergreen, but when warming, YUCK. It smelled musty and gross. Not a repurch!
Lasting Scent Candles Spring Mountain Mint
Cold Rating6/10
Lit Rating: 5.5/10
Throw Rating6/10
Overall Rating6/10; very strange and earthy mixed with mint, water, and dirt, in my opinion. It was good and mediumly strong, but weird. Not a repurch.
Lasting Scent Candles Sweet Potato Muffins
Cold Rating6/10
Lit Rating: 5.5/10
Throw Rating6/10
Overall Rating6/10; interesting scent, very sweet from the brown sugar note. Decent, but not my favorite. Smelled like butter, too. This was a sample and I'm not sure if I'd buy it on my own.
Orchid Lake Candles Pear Noel
Cold Rating6/10
Lit Rating: 6/10
Throw Rating6/10
Overall Rating6/10; this was decent, had that great pear smell mixed with caramelly and velvety VBN. Very nice. Not a repurchase, though, it was too sweet.
Up The Creek Scents' Hillbilly Brew Noel
Cold Rating5/10
Lit Rating: 4/10
Throw Rating4/10
Overall Rating4/10; I loved UTC's vanilla bean noel straight, but when mixed, it wasn't pleasant to my nose. It wasn't overly strong, though, so there's that. Not a repurchase.
Up The Creek Scents' Vanilla Bean Noel
Cold Rating7/10
Lit Rating: 8/10
Throw Rating8/10
Overall Rating: 8/10; luscious, caramelly, delicious! Strong, wonderful. Loved this dupe. Definite repurchase!

Haul: Rosegirls Haul #5 (August Order)!

When Rosegirls opened back up in August, I placed two orders: one was for a sampler, and one was for a few new/fall scents and some favorites.
Well, I guess I placed a bigger order than I thought, because I was surprised when I got my package about two weeks ago!
Let's get into the scents and stuff, yay! (IMAGE HEAVY!)
I absolutely LOVE this thank you card! AGHHHH, so cute!!
My samples!

  • Frosted Pumpkin Funnel Cake: AMAAAAAAAZING scent. Slight spice, but overall just a nice, sweet bakery. Love the blue and orange chunks!
  • Ultimate Caramel Apple Pie: the name says it all, I think...insane apple and caramel smells mixed together with a slight crust note. Good!
  • Orange Sherbet and Pomegranate: this smells like a 50/50 bar with more tang from the pomegranate. I LOVE IT!!
I'll talk about the brittle first. I got a couple bags of scents that intrigued me enough that I thought I'd like them as stand alone scents.
  • Pumpkin Chai: recommended to me highly by Karen (Suukasi on YouTube), I really like this! I think it will be better in a month, and the overall cold sniff is extremely spicy, not so much chai. I have a feeling the chai smells will come out with cure time.
  • Cozy Comfort: this scent is INCREDIBLE. I absolutely love it. It smells a bit like celtic moonspice or a spicy amish quilt. EXTREMELY cozy!
Muffins next! These are my own, personally made blends!

  • Pumpkin Cupcake, Pumpkin Chai, Celtic Moonspice: I added pumpkin cupcake at the last minute and I wish I would have left it out...that being said, this is nice, just not what I was going for. It's just a bit too bakery for me. Next time, I will blend celtic moonspice, cozy comfort, and perhaps pumpkin chai.

  • Watermelon Slush, Raspberry Sauce, Pink Sugar: BRILLIANT combination! The watermelon and raspberry go so well together, and pink sugar just gives it that sweet kick I love. I should have also gotten a bag of Pomegranate Watermelon Slush, though.
Full bags next!
  • Pumpkin Carrot Cake: I think this is my least favorite from the order. I don't like the carrot smell in this, but I'm hoping it'll go away after cure time/smell better while warming. I wish this was spicier!

  • Apple Cider Donuts: lovely sweet donuts, slight cinnamon, and that overpowering apple cider...wonderful! I like this, but I don't think I need a whole bag of it. It was a last minute, jump-the-gun purchase.

  • Cinnamon Glazed Oranges: uh-may-zinnnnnnnnnnnng! You get that sweet orange mixed with a spicy cinnamon...this is going to be a favorite, I can tell.

  • Strawberry Euphoria: a huge favorite as of late, this is a super-duper strawberry concoction and I think it lives up to the hype. You obviously have to LOVE strawberry, and I do, so think smells great to me.

  • Grapefruit Swizzle Sticks: I've had this on my to-buy list for the last 3 re-openings and forgot about it each time. This is nice, but it's got hints of the grapefruit I don't like...I liken it to B.O. In this case, it's not heavy, and I think it will dissipate while warming, but on cold sniff, it's there and hinders my enjoyment of it. The grapefruit is refreshing with the swizzle stick blend, though.

  • Monster Cookie Fluff Puffs: Josh doesn't like this scent, but I do. It's so good, it's like cookies and flakiness and puffy marshmallow and I don't know what I'm saying...it's just brilliantly amazing. So good. If you're a fan of bakery, try this.

  • Alice in Wonderland: repurchase for me. The combination of scents (honeydew, something, and something) make this smell like watermelon to me. I absolutely love it. PS: cool colors!

  • Strawberry Lemon Custard: another favorite in the RG community, this is another fantastic scent. I love RG's lemon and strawberry scents individually, so together, this smells like a winner on cold sniff!
Are you going to order from Rosegirls during their next reopening? Let me know what you plan on getting and if you've tried these scents, let me know how you enjoyed them!!
