Subscription Box Corner: October 2015's Love with Food Review!

I'm here today with my review for the October Love with Food subscription box! I'm gonna get straight into it without any bings, bangs, clangs, or whistles!
The box.
Open opening the box.
The pamphlet describing its contents.
Hubs Peanuts are home cooked in Virgina and are basically just super salty peanuts. I found nothing special about these. Sure, they were crispy and quite salty, but there really wasn't a damn thing special about these. If you know what a peanut tastes like, you know how these taste. 3/5.
Brothers All Natural Crisps dried fruits were such a bust it wasn't even funny. I am tepid on real bananas, but when freeze dried, these were bloody disgusting. The strawberries weren't much better. This package made me want to vomit and I only had one of each. The banana left a horrible aftertaste in my mouth and I wouldn't buy these to save my life. 0/5. Not even astronauts should eat this.
Beecher's handmade cheese crackers in the original flavor threw me for a loop. These are incredibly different. Not light and crispy, but thick and hearty, they tasted almost stale, even though they stayed crunchy throughout the cracker. There's little to no flavor in them. 2.5/5.
Dolcetto's cookies & cream wafer bites were good. Crunchy, sort of sweet but not too sweet, a good balance of cream in the middle and and crispy wafer on the outside. Nothing too special, but still quite tasty! 3.5/5.
We have had Cosmos Creations in the past in their sweet varieties and have loved them. In fact, they are one of my favorite store bought snacks. The cheddar and pepper variety was good. Slightly spicy from the pepper, super salty from the cheddar, and just right for us. You have to like really puffy snacks to enjoy this, which luckily, we do. 4/5.
Torie and Howard's Chewie Fruities are like Starbursts, but natural. Chewy, satisfying, different flavors, these are awesome!! The texture is not similar as these are a bit more gummy, but they make up for it with flavors like blood orange and honey, and meyer lemon raspberry. YUM! 5/5.
Somersaults sunflower seed bites were surprisingly wonderful! The cocoa in these doesn't detract from the sunflowery taste and doesn't make them overly sweet, either. The star is the seeds, and what little sweetness is added is minor. These were SO good! 4.5/5. I would totally buy these.
The chocolate salted caramel protein bar from Luna made me think of my pal Deb, who loves these things. This one was good, sort of sweet, mostly chewy, similar to a Tiger's Milk in texture, though I think I prefer those. Still, not bad! 3.5/5.

The box was completely soured by the dried fruit, which gives me nightmares to even think about eating. Ughhhh. Overall, there was a couple of really good product in this box! Yum! Snack on, friends!!

Subscription Box Corner: September 2015's Love With Food Review!

Hi all! 2 posts in one day?! I am on a roll! Here are my thoughts on the September Love with Food subscription box! It's a good one!
The box.
The inside first look.
Booklet inside the box.
Funley's Cheddar N' Stuff flavored Super Crackers boast a cheez-it type of cheddar cracker supposedly filled with superfoods, in this case, broccoli. Now, if you think these are chock full of the stuff, guess again: broccoli is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down towards the end of the ingredient list. Why even put broccoli on the front of your package? Their entire branding is based on broccoli being part of the cracker and it barely has any in it. It seems very misleading, especially since these are obviously geared towards kids. The taste, a bit stale, sort of crunchy, but mostly weird. The broccoli is noticeable, but it's mostly just a worse cheez-it. 2.5/5.
While the JimmyBar! sounded like an excellent product, unfortunately, it got thrown away on accident. :(
I had received a Bear Naked granola in a box a few months ago in the flavor curry coconut vomitness. The sea salt caramel apple variety is much better because of the apple and hard caramel pieces, but the granola itself is still pretty stale tasting. 3.5/5.
Snack Factory's Pretzel Crisps gluten free minis in the original flavor were so, so good! I would totally buy these. They have a great, hefty crunch and a delicious, popping mouth feel. Wonderful, would love to try these in another variety! 5/5.
Smarty Pants gummy vitamins were just that, gummy vitamins. Sweet but still rich in their vitaminy goodness. I wish these had been sour. Good gummy texture. 4/5.
It seems like in every Love with Food box I have received, there has been at least one type of fruit snack item. YumEarth's organic fruit snacks were good, more like jelly drops than fruit snacks, and the banana on needed to GTFO, gross. Still, these were good, but rather boring. 3.5/5.
Mrs. Thinsters chocolate chip cookie thinsters were delicious! Sweet, crunchy, not too filling, perfect for a small dessert or snack. The flavor was out of this world good and the crispiness of the thin cookies made me want more. We loved these! 5/5.
I looooooooooooooove Snapea crisps! They are so delectable and crunchy with a surprisngly good flavor. YUM. I have had these before, have purchased them multiple times, and will continue to do so. A bit greasy, though I would like to try the other flavors to see how they taste. 5/5.
Love with Food also sent along this big bag from Schoola where you can donate clothing to help kids sell them online and $2 out of every $5 supports kids' programs! I love this idea!

So, this was a pretty great box with no real stinker products and some great, tried and true favs. What do you think of this subscription box, does it tickle your fancy?

Subscription Box Corner: August 2015's Love With Food Review!

Again, I am sorry for my very late review for the August Love With Food subscription box service. Sorry. Let's get right into it without the formalities, shall we?
The box.
First look.
August 2015 guide booklet.
The fruity pie in apricot and almond from I Love Snacking was okay, nothing special. It's basically combined apricot mush and almonds. The texture was weird and we hardly tasted any of the almond in this. You really have to love apricots for this, and since we're only so-so on them, when combined with the said texture and rather unimaginative product, we weren't impressed. 2/5.
Beyond a brief burst of mild lemon scent when opening the cap, the Lemon Rooibos iced herbal tea powder from Stash was a bust for me. There is an even more, barely recognizable lemon flavor in this, but I prefer the flavor packets from last month's box to this, those were insanely juicy and very tart. This had no tea flavor whatsoever. In fact, if it weren't for the brown color, you'd barely know it was tea. 1.5/5.
Sesame....cranberry....peanut butter??? Weird combination of ingredients! Fortunately, this was excellent. Nutty, slightly sweet, and very sesame-y, I loved this product. Josh didn't try it, but I'd love to see what other bizarre combinations Wild Friends has in store for us, Definite repurchase, love the squeezy pack, too! 4/5.
It's rare that we eat Indian food in our house, but when we do, we always get tons of naan. It's one of the best things out there. These naan crisps by Stonefire were pretty bland, but not awful. The lack of flavor was okay because they were crisp, tasty, and really good! 3.5/5, would love to see a variety of flavors offered by this company!
Go Organic sent a full sized back of apple flavored organic hard candies! I would have preferred a different flavor, but beggars can't be choosers. These are pretty good, very appley, and they have to be since it's the only flavor in the candy, lol. You have to be in the mood for these and really like the taste of apple. 3/5.
Who the hell has heard of a broad bean? Hmmm..roasted broad beans. Another weird thing in a box this month. Anyways, these are shaped like little ears and pack quite a hefty crunch, but unfortunately, the roasted garlic flavor was very artificial and I didn't care for it at all. The bean gets a 3.5/5, but the flavor here gets a 2/5.
479 Degrees included a bag of Asiago, Parmesan and Cheddar artisan popcorn, and with ingredients like that, you'd expect this to be bursting the flavor, right? WRONG. This was gross, bland, and boring. No salt, no flavor, just ugh. 1/5.
We found out about Kind products a few months ago and have been obsessed ever since. I love quinoa in anything, and this salted caramel popped bar was delicious. Sweet, filling, crunchy goodness filled with ingredients you can pronounce. 5/5.

Overall, there were a few winners in this box, but a lot of losers. Oh well, they can't all be great, and this box has been consistently better than Treatsie! See anything you like in here?
