Swift & Supersonically Snappy Short Review #104: Sugar and Spice Gourmet Soy's Wild Watermelon

Well, the heat is on. It has been upwards of 80-90 off and on the last 2 weeks.
Sugar and Spice Gourmet Soy's Wild Watermelon
Cold Rating: 8/10
Lit Rating: 8.5/10
Throw Rating: 8/10
Overall Rating: 8/10; addicted to watermelon scents, have been for some time. This one is juicy, fragrant, sweet. Not much else but picture perfect watermelon. Loving the smell of it, but not the taste of it. Artificial watermelon or real watermelon? Great throw, smelled consistent the entire melt time, about 7 hours in the bathroom. Gorgeous pink color, but horrible on my poor warmer, which is not a dyed shade of hot pink. Brilliant vendor, in my top 5. Waiting to melt scents until the appropriate season (thanks, Deb! LOL). Tropical, but not in a Hawaiian/coconut/pineapple way. MMmmmm..

Lightning Round Reviews #29: Beezy-Tarts-A-Palooza!

So, I have been sitting on several Beezy Tarts reviews in my little ol' trusty notebook here, and I figured, why don't I pump 'em all into one post? Image heavy, but oh so good. C'mon and take a looksie!
Beezy-Tarts's Bonfire Bliss
Cold Rating: 9/10
Lit Rating: 9/10
Throw Rating: 9/10
Overall Rating: 9/10; smokey, wonderful, slightly musky, a little gooey ooey, not like Marshmallow Fireside, more mature, if that makes sense. Takes the 'bonfire' part to a whole 'nother level. Excellent!!
Beezy-Tarts's Papaya Dragon Fruit
Cold Rating: 7/10
Lit Rating: 9/10
Throw Rating: 8/10
Overall Rating: 8/10
Beezy-Tarts's Lavendar Apple
Cold Rating: 7/10
Lit Rating: 8/10
Throw Rating: 7.5/10
Overall Rating: 7.5/10
Beezy-Tarts's Pink Watermelon
Cold Rating: 9/10
Lit Rating: 9.5/10
Throw Rating: 9/10
Overall Rating: 9/10; not sure if the pink here is pink lime, but it's watermelon plus something else, and it is freaking fantastic. Super juicy, strong and in your face, delicate in a fruity way, just a tremendous melt. Must have more NOW.
Beezy-Tarts's Salt Water Taffy
Cold Rating: 6/10
Lit Rating: 6/10
Throw Rating: 6/10
Overall Rating: 6/10
Beezy-Tarts's Rainbow Sherbet
Cold Rating: 6/10
Lit Rating: 6.5/10
Throw Rating: 6.5/10
Overall Rating: 6.5/10; if you've smelled one sherbet scent, you've sort of smelled them all. Sweet, fruity, creamy, this is a great scent if you're into sherbet. Me? I am 50/50 on it. This is nice, but sort of expected. Nothing too extraordinary. Medium throw everywhere.
Beezy-Tarts's Iced Tea
Cold Rating: 9/10
Lit Rating: 9.5/10
Throw Rating: 10/10
Overall Rating: 9.5/10; as close to perfect as one could hope to get. Lemon, iced tea, a little bit perfumey, but I don't mind. This one is EXCELLENT. Just like the drink. STRONG, ferociously so. Lingered, too. Mmmmm. All of these summer scents!!
Beezy-Tarts's Coconut Bay
Cold Rating: 8/10
Lit Rating: 8/10
Throw Rating: 8/10
Overall Rating: 8/10; you have to LOVE coconut to enjoy this because it's all that's there, but in a good way. Lovely, tropical, like laying on a beach with a pina colada. Smells just like vacation. Strong, but not overwhelmingly so.
Beezy-Tarts's Strawberry Passion
Cold Rating: 6/10
Lit Rating: 6/10
Throw Rating: 6/10
Overall Rating: 6/10; I had high expectations for this one since I have friends who loooove it, but I was underwhelmed. Sort of smelled like chapstick. Maybe I got a bad egg?
Beezy-Tarts's Amish Quilt
Cold Rating: 8/10
Lit Rating: 8/10
Throw Rating: 7.5/10
Overall Rating: 8/10; if you have read my blog for any length of time, you know this is one of my favorite scents. This could have bee stronger, but it was still nice.
Beezy-Tarts's Christmas Past
Cold Rating: 7.5/10
Lit Rating: 7.5/10
Throw Rating: 7.5/10
Overall Rating: 7.5/10
Beezy-Tarts's Home Sweet Home (YC)
Cold Rating: 7/10
Lit Rating: 7/10
Throw Rating: 7/10
Overall Rating: 7/10
Beezy-Tarts's Mint Lavender
Cold Rating: 8/10
Lit Rating: 8.5/10
Throw Rating: 8/10
Overall Rating: 8.5/10; an excellent herbal lavender mixed with fresh mint. Intoxicating at night. A strong melt! Repurchase necessary!
Beezy-Tarts's Passion Fruit & Guava (B&BW)
Cold Rating: 8/10
Lit Rating: 8/10
Throw Rating: 8/10
Overall Rating: 8/10; unexpected greatness. Strong, fruity, in your face in a good way. Lovely mix of tropical scents! Need to track this down from B&BW (at least with Beezy, we know it'll throw, lol!)
Beezy-Tarts's Pomegranate
Cold Rating: 6.5/10
Lit Rating: 6.5/10
Throw Rating: 6/10
Overall Rating: 6.5/10; just a fruit scent. Pomegranate smells like a bunch of other things combined into one. Not truly notable, but not awful. Medium all around. Love these little donut samples and his cool photos on his labels.
Beezy-Tarts's Pink Sands (YC)
Cold Rating: 8/10
Lit Rating: 8.5/10
Throw Rating: 8/10
Overall Rating: 8/10; an insanely accurate dupe. Strong as hell. Perfumey, beachy, wonderful. Such an awesome dupe, seriously, TRY THIS!!!

Lightning Round Reviews #28: Lake Providence Lodge Round-Up (P-Z)!

I'm back with part 2 of my Lake Providence Lodge wax melts round-up! Come and take a look!
Peppermint ~ Crisp, refreshing and strong! A true peppermint.
Lake Providence Lodge's Peppermint
Cold Rating: 10/10
Lit Rating: 10/10
Throw Rating: 10/10
Overall Rating: 10/10; insane throw. Perfect and crisp, just like the essential oil. Must be a fan of true peppermint scents as this is the only scent to be had. Incredible nighttime melt. Smells SO FREAKING GOOD. Cut this baby in half for longevity. Lasts many, many hours. Clean, but not astringent in a cleaner way. Brilliant peppermint scent!!!
Pistachio Punch ~ A fruity and sweet blend of pistachios, ripe red cherries, juicy oranges and fresh pineapple.
Lake Providence Lodge's Pistachio Punch
Cold Rating: 7/10
Lit Rating: 7/10
Throw Rating: 7/10
Overall Rating: 7/10; super fruity melody! Pineapple and pistachio go good together. Melted this in the bathroom and it lasted about 5-6 hours. Lingered even after it was gone in the back bedroom. You need to love tropical scents as well as pistachio. Almost wonder how this would be with serendipity!
Pomegranate Cider ~ Our Pomegranate warmed up a bit with fresh pressed apples and a little spice.
Lake Providence Lodge's Pomegranate Cider
Cold Rating: 8/10
Lit Rating: 8.5/10
Throw Rating: 8/10
Overall Rating: 8/10; underrated spicy fruit scent. Not like apple at all, more dark and mysterious. Spicy, but not too terribly spicy as it is muted slightly by the pomegranate. Also, an underrated fruit to begin with. Lasted 6 hours in the bedroom with strong throw.
Pumpkin Butter ~ Made from scratch apple butter blended with pumpkin spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and warm vanilla.
Lake Providence Lodge's Pumpkin Butter
Cold Rating: 6/10
Lit Rating: 6/10
Throw Rating: 6/10
Overall Rating: 7.5/10; much lighter on the spices than I had anticipated, I think they are relegated to a background note here since the apple butter and pumpkin are the starts. Sort of buttery, even though it's not a butter scent? Fruity, but also a bit more depth to it. Not  my favorite melt. Lasted 4 hours before I pulled it.
Rainbow Sherbet ~ This smells just like the sherbet mom served us that came out of the square ice cream box. Raspberry, lemon, lime and orange blended with a touch of our Strawberry makes this the perfect fruity sherbet.
Lake Providence Lodge's Rainbow Sherbet
Cold Rating: 7/10
Lit Rating: 7/10
Throw Rating: 7/10
Overall Rating: 7/10; crazy accurate to the frozen treat. Strong, fruity, in your face scent. Raspberry and citrus to the max. Great for a summers day! Lasted 7 hours in the bedroom. I should have cut this one in half because it would have been a good "whole house" scent if I had distributed it between 2 warmers. Liked this, but not a repurchase.
Rhubarb ~ Crisp and tart. This is a slightly sweet, but earthy scent. Rhubarb, freshly picked from the garden.
Lake Providence Lodge's Rhubarb
Cold Rating: 7/10
Lit Rating: 7.5/10
Throw Rating: 7/10
Overall Rating: 7/10; being the only late 20-something who likes rhubarb, I can attest it is truly the most underrated vegetable/fruit out there. Mix this with sugar and cinnamon in a pie? OOhhhhh baby! So good. It's an acquired taste, so lots of people probably won't like this scent because, like figs, this is a sweet-fruity scent, but is earthy, too. I like this one. It's got a medium-high throw for the bedroom. Could have used some spice, for my taste.
Sparkling Lemonade ~ Ice cold lemonade with a touch of fizzy citrus soda added.
Lake Providence Lodge's Sparkling Lemonade
Cold Rating: 7.5/10
Lit Rating: 7.5/10
Throw Rating: 7.5/10
Overall Rating: 7.5/10; very sparkly, don't believe me? Smell it for yourself. It's insanely bubbly. Also, the lemon note is great, not astringent or cleaner-y like others. Our house smelled excellent for the duration of this melt, but this scent did get a little tedious. Lasted 6 hours. Liked this, but not a repurchase.
Strawberry ~ Smells like a big bowl of ripe strawberries that have been sliced and sugared. Very fresh and fruity!
Lake Providence Lodge's Strawberry
Cold Rating: 8/10
Lit Rating: 8.5/10
Throw Rating: 8/10
Overall Rating: 8/10; surprisingly wonderful! Sweet, fruity, just a teensy weensy bit candied. I loved this scent!! Melted this in the bathroom and it made the house smell excellent. I wish I had another one of these and a toasted marshmallow to melt these together. Lasted 8.5 hours.
Summer Fruit Salad ~ Sugar sprinkled oranges, grapefruit, strawberries, melon, peaches and kiwi.
Lake Providence Lodge's Summer Fruit Salad
Cold Rating: 8/10
Lit Rating: 8/10
Throw Rating: 8/10
Overall Rating: 8/10; another amazing fruit scent! This is a melange of fruits to the point where you can see them in your head as you're melting this. So strong. In your face with scent. Melony. Not enough kiwi scents in wax! Lasted 6 hours. Liked this, but not a repurchase.
The Cabin ~ A wonderful scent of cozy and warm spices including allspice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Like Fall at the Lodge curled up under a quilt by the stone fireplace.
Lake Providence Lodge's The Cabin
Cold Rating: 8/10
Lit Rating: 8.5/10
Throw Rating: 8/10
Overall Rating: 8/10; as you'll notice, most of the LPL wax tarts have high reviews. This is not a coincidence because they are such a consistently outrageously excellent vendor. The Cabin is probably my second favorite spicy scent from LPL: appley, spicy, all it needs is a cup of cocoa and some snowflakes! Awesome throw, smells great, repurchase for sure.
Toasted Vanilla Bean ~ Fresh vanilla beans warmed with toasted marshmallow and caramel.
Lake Providence Lodge's Toasted Vanilla Bean
Cold Rating: 7.5/10
Lit Rating: 7.5/10
Throw Rating: 7.5/10
Overall Rating: 7.5/10; a great toasted vanilla bean scent! Creamy, rich, sweet, only slightly toasted to me. The bedroom smelled really nice melting this. Nothing I should have cut in half. Decent medium-strong throw.
~~~~~~~~~~~
I have some other LPL tarts yet to melt, so I will review those as I finish them! Thanks for reading!
Lightning Round Reviews #27: Lake Providence Lodge Round-Up (A-O)!
I haven't done a Lightning Round Reviews post since January, so let's rectify this situation! Today, I am featuring some older melts from Lake Providence Lodge letters A-O. The rest will be up another day!! Note: the date on these tarts is the date I received them in the mail, but they have been melted throughout the last year with notes included in my notebook!
Apple Cinnamon ~ Simple and delicious cinnamon dusted apple slices. There is no crust or bakery, just apples and cinnamon.
Lake Providence Lodge's Apple Cinnamon
Cold Rating: 6/10
Lit Rating: 6/10
Throw Rating: 6.5/10
Overall Rating: 6/10; middle of the road apple cinnamon scent, nothing extreme, but not bad, just your average cinnamon apple blend.
Apple Pie ~ Just like a warm from the oven baked apple pie. You will smell it all-apples, spices and crust.
Lake Providence Lodge's Apple Pie
Cold Rating: 6.5/10
Lit Rating: 7/10
Throw Rating: 7/10
Overall Rating: 7/10; even though this has a crusty note to it, I loved it! It has a good throw, an excellent scent, and really smelled authentic!
Apple Spice ~ Perfectly ripe apples tossed with warm spices.
Lake Providence Lodge's Apple Spice
Cold Rating: 9/10
Lit Rating: 10/10
Throw Rating: 9/10
Overall Rating: 9/10; impeccable scent. Wonderful! Smelled so good, much better than Apple Cinnamon. More spices, more to love! Heavy on the cinnamon.
Cider Lake ~ Spiced and sweet cider blended with sugary caramel.
Lake Providence Lodge's Cider Lake
Cold Rating: 7/10
Lit Rating: 7/10
Throw Rating: 7/10
Overall Rating: 8/10; you have to love caramel to like this one. I wasn't bothered by it as much here as I usually am with caramel scents, so this was nice, but it is a very authentic caramel apple scent. Sweet, juicy apples, very strong!
Country Cottage ~ Sweet cinnamon blended with vanilla, caramel, a touch of cider and maple syrup.
Lake Providence Lodge's Country Cottage
Cold Rating: 10/10
Lit Rating: 10/10
Throw Rating: 10/10
Overall Rating: 10/10; rivals my beloved The Lodge's Kitchen, but each are different in their own way. It is sweet and spicy together in a perfect dance of fallness.
Cranberry Lime ~ Sweet and tart cranberries blended with a squeeze of lime juice.
Lake Providence Lodge's Cranberry Lime
Cold Rating: 7/10
Lit Rating: 7.5/10
Throw Rating: 7.5/10
Overall Rating: 7.5/10; heavy lime meets sweet cranberry with a bit of tartness in there, too. Quite pungent on the citrus front, but I loved it. Really exceeded my expectations.
Cranberry Spice ~ Cinnamon and spice soaked sweet cranberries.
Lake Providence Lodge's Cranberry Spice
Cold Rating: 7.5/10
Lit Rating: 7.5/10
Throw Rating: 7.5/10
Overall Rating: 7.5/10; sort of reminds me of a craft store, but in a non offensive way. Very spicy, sweet and mildly tart, if I didn't know this was cranberry, I might not have known because it was in the bathroom and I wasn't paying much attention to it until I walked by the room.
Cupcake ~ Cupcakes made with white cake and buttercream frosting.
Lake Providence Lodge's Cupcake
Cold Rating: 8/10
Lit Rating: 7/10
Throw Rating: 7/10
Overall Rating: 7/10; this smelled sooooooooooooo good on cold sniff, I was a bit let down by its final product. Most bakery lover will love this either way, but to me, it was a bit *too* bakery. Still, the buttercream frosting scent was excellent mixed in with this!
Iced Pumpkin Cookie ~ Vanilla sugar cookie combined with fresh pumpkin and apple, hints of cinnamon and clove.
Lake Providence Lodge's Iced Pumpkin Cookie
Cold Rating: 6/10
Lit Rating: 6.5/10
Throw Rating: 6/10
Overall Rating: 6/10; this scent wax extremely buttery, like, more than you can imagine it would be. The spices were nice, but I couldn't get over the butter note.
Lime Slices ~ Tart and sweet. A delicious, clean lime scent!
Lake Providence Lodge's Lime Slices
Cold Rating: 7/10
Lit Rating: 7.5/10
Throw Rating: 7/10
Overall Rating: 7/10; quite a strong lime scent, and yes, it does manage to smell a bit clean! You have to love lime for this one as there are no other notes, but it's insane how accurate LPL's scents are.
Melted Marshmallow ~ Lightly warmed, sugar-y marshmallows. A delicious and rich vanilla scent.
Lake Providence Lodge's Melted Marshmallow
Cold Rating: 8/10
Lit Rating: 8.5/10
Throw Rating: 8.5/10
Overall Rating: 8.5/10; an amaaaaaaaaaaaazing marshmallow scent, this scent shot was dripping with ooey gooey goodness. Sweet, creamy, this would be an excellent blender. YUM!!!
Mulberry Spice ~ Warmed mulberries, steeped in syrupy brown sugar and cinnamon just waiting to become a cobbler.
Lake Providence Lodge's Mulberry Spice
Cold Rating: 7.5/10
Lit Rating: 7.5/10
Throw Rating: 7.5/10
Overall Rating: 7.5/10; I'm not sure I'd know what a mulberry was if it bit me where the sun don't shine, but I really liked this scent! It had a nice spice mixed with the sweet berry, but it sort of reminded me a little like cranberry. Good, though!
Swift & Supersonically Snappy Short Review #79: Sniff My Tarts' Peppermint/Spearmint/Lavender
MINT EXPLOSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111111111111111
Sniff My Tarts' Peppermint/Spearmint/Lavender
Cold Rating: 8.5/10
Lit Rating: 7/10
Throw Rating: 9/10
Overall Rating: 8/10; this smells amazing on cold sniff, but the lavender comes out much more while warming, and while I don't hate it, I don't love it compared to other lavenders. Lavender is powdery, more like a laundry than a sweet lavender. Do not love. Cool peppermint and refreshing spearmint are such a wonderful combination. Blended mints are basically my fav. Cool color combination in the wax! Real pieces of lavender on top of the wax are both an awesome touch and a pain in the ass to clean out of the warmer. Large chunks that need to be cut even when already cut, ugh. This vendor is not opened all the time, but an opening is coming up soon. Never had a problem with throw from SMT. Chunks over loaves. Cutting wax is the devil.
Swift & Supersonically Snappy Short Review #69: Beezy Tarts' Clove
"I'm only happy when it rains."
Well, I sure as hell picked the wrong place to be born! :P
Beezy Tarts' Clove
Cold Rating: 8/10
Lit Rating: 8/10
Throw Rating: 8/10
Overall Rating: 8/10; straight-up clove, nothing else. Pungent, wonderful. Spicy, but pleasant, and not bitter in any way like some spiced scents can smell. Quite a strong throw, melted in the bathroom warmer, lingered throughout the house happily for 6-8ish hours. Would be a good background scent while entertaining guests. Angering The Fall Slut. Wishing and hoping for her forgiveness. Mistaking sprinkles of "rain" for "real" "rain." Unnecessary quote end quote marks. Cute and small pictures on the labels. Love of Beezy. He'd also be angered by knowing me, a Californian, calls "rain" "sprinkles" because we know nothing else in SoCal. More quote end quote marks.
Swift & Supersonically Snappy Short Review #66: Butterfly Lane Scents' Strawberry White Cake
LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND, HO!
I have no idea why I said that, it had nothing to do with today's melt.
Butterfly Lane Scents' Strawberry White Cake
Cold Rating: 8/10
Lit Rating: 8.5/10
Throw Rating: 8/10
Overall Rating: 7.5/10; one of the very few vendors that has a good, solid, non-buttery cake bakery scent. Amazed by this vendor. Fantastically sweet, both from the fruity strawberry and the fluffy cake. Strong, lasted many, many hours in both the bedroom and the bathroom (I had 2 scent shots). Hoarding scents because of unopened vendors. Hard to get vendors who don't open all the time are the bane. Changed from colored wax to white wax. Not caring about what color wax is because it all gets tossed in the end. Strawberry season. Nothin' worse than awful strawberries. Homemade cake. Using a bajillion dishes and making a mess. Turning into a semi-bakery gal one scent at a time. Loving cake scents, never knowing which will be the butteriest and nastiest popcorn smelling cakes. Nothing will stop me from eating cake. Cake, before Rihanna. "Cake," with Jennifer Aniston, had very little to do with cake until the end of the film. Friends don't let friends let cake spoil.
Swift & Supersonically Snappy Short Review #64: Better Homes and Garden's Pink Sugar Berry
My wonderful waxy pal, Deb from It's Always Something, went to her local Walmart a little while ago and I asked her/she offered to get a few things for me. Thanks again, Deb! I knew when she picked up this one for me, I *had* to melt it first.
Better Homes and Gardens' Pink Sugar Berry
Cold Rating: 7/10
Lit Rating: 8/10
Throw Rating: 8/10
Overall Rating: 8/10; a wonderful balance of sweet, juicy, fragrant and fruity raspberry, mature musk, and exotic, perfect pink sugar. Smells great in just 2 cubes. Strong, lasted many hours in the bedroom. Bright pink wax. Wax that would be better frozen in the freezer as opposed to poured out while hot. The misconception that tarts form Walmart don't throw well = crap. Getting multiple melts in each clamshell. No horrible skunky smell from this clamshell. Clamshell is a funny word. Infinite supply of Walmart tarts while most other vendors have long TATs. Instant gratification, like going to get ice cream right now!!!
Swift & Supersonically Snappy Short Review #60: Beezy Tarts' Apple Cinnamon
Even though it has been 80+ degrees IN FEBRUARY for the last week or so, I have been longing for winter scents still. So, what better way to get over a scent craving than with something delicious like an apple scent?
Beezy Tarts Apple Cinnamon
Cold Rating: 8/10
Lit Rating: 8/10
Throw Rating: 7.5/10
Overall Rating: 8/10; sweet apple with spicy cinnamon. Smells wonderful while melting and on cold sniff. Medium-high throw. Love the cute little picture on the label. Obsessed with cinnamon and apples scents, even when it's hot outside. Not bragging about warm weather when people are stuck in snow farms. Sweet versus fresh, cleaning apples. Perfect cinnamon. Vendors not opened all the time. Unannounced openings. NEEDING MORE OF A VENDORS TARTS AND YET THEY ARE NOT OPENED. Stressing the same thing multiple times.
Swift & Supersonically Snappy Short Review #59: Front Porch's Moonspice Marshmallow
My love of celtic moonspice knows no bounds, 365/24/7, all the time.
Front Porch's Moonspice Marshmallow
Cold Rating: 7/10
Lit Rating: 8.5/10
Throw Rating: 8/10
Overall Rating: 8/10; FP's marshmallow strikes again. Celtic moonspice creepin' up in all warmers. Lovely throw, pleasant fragrance. Sweet and slightly spicy, but mostly marshmallowy that is sort of velvety, too. Huge cookie shapes. 2-3 melts per cookie. Lasted 6-8 hours each time I melted. Lovely bags. Simple labels. Fantastic blends. Marshmallow being a stand-by scent. Not ordering from Front Porch in a long time, Ignoring emails. Refusing to update email app. Needing a new phone because mine won't charge. Repurchase for sure!
Lightning Round Review #26: Vintage Chic Scents Mash-Up, Part I!
I have been going Vintage Chic crazy and have been melting through my stash so I can order more. Today, I bring you some reviews, new and old! Do you like VCS? What's your favorite scent?!
Annabelle Doll - Cranberry Strawberry Pomegranate. (Created by Karee.)
Vintage Chic Scents' Annabelle Doll
Cold Rating: 6/10
Lit Rating: 6.5/10
Throw Rating: 6/10
Overall Rating: 6/10; couldn't really smell anything I would describe as cranberry in this blend, but it was nice and fruity. I just wish it would have been stronger. Lasted 4.5 hours in the bathroom 2 different times as these leaf tarts are huuuuge. Her strawberry is one of my favorites!
Beverly Hills Hotel (strawberry, raspberry and guava) + Ziegfeld Follies (pomegranate and mulberry)
Vintage Chic Scents' Beverly Hills Follies
Cold Rating: 6/10
Lit Rating: 6.5/10
Throw Rating: 6/10
Overall Rating: 6/10; another blend of a ton of scents that sort of drown each other out almost. It still smells good, but isn't all that strong. Sweet, fruity, but not much else. Medium throw, lasted 3 hours in the bathroom before I wanted something stronger. The strawberry and guava were the most noticeable of all the "ingredients."
Bluebird Cafe - Freshly picked strawberries
Vintage Chic Scents' Bluebird Cafe
Cold Rating: 8/10
Lit Rating: 8/10
Throw Rating: 8/10
Overall Rating: 8/10; such a wonderful and fruity sweet scent! This is nothing but strawberries but it is smashing, baby, yeah! Lovely, strong, lasted 6 hours in the bathroom, even for a 1 ounce scent shot! Always repurchase. This is so nice.
Bride of Frankenstein - Apple Blueberry Wedding Cake
Vintage Chic Scents' Bride of Frankenstein
Cold Rating: 5/10
Lit Rating: 6/10
Throw Rating: 6/10
Overall Rating: 6/10; usually I am not a fan of blueberry, but when mixed with cake and apple, it sort of didn't smell half bad while warming! It seemed like this one ouncer didn't throw as well as the leaf scent I had in this same fragrance, but it was still lasting, about 5-6 hours each time in the bathroom. Not bad! Cute name. Do yourself a favor and watch "Frankenstein," the original with Boris Karloff
Cape Cod was a favorite getaway for high society during the 1950s and 1960s, including John F. Kennedy. This scent, including salty sea spray, sea weather driftwood and a hint of water lily, is the perfect escape.
Vintage Chic Scents' Cape Cod
Cold Rating: 6/10
Lit Rating: 7/10
Throw Rating: 6.5/10
Overall Rating: 6.5/10; what a lovely combination of scents! I love sea salt scents, and the driftwood sort of overpowered in this blend, and it was pretty floral, so I would have liked to smell more of the salt. This was better than I expected while warming, though! Lasted 5.5 hours in the bathroom. Clean, fresh, lovely, will definitely repurchase.
Central Park Snow Globe - Peppermint Creme Noel
Vintage Chic Scents' Central Park Snow Globe
Cold Rating: 9/10
Lit Rating: 9/10
Throw Rating: 9/10
Overall Rating: 9/10; a gift from the wonderful Jacqui at The Scholarly Nail, I LOVED THIS SCENT! It was so minty and creamy sweetness, but the blend was absolutely perfect. This was a huge snowflake shape and I melted the whole thing and I swear it lasted over 2 days. It got lower in throw, but it was still lasting! SO good. Yum. Always repurchase!
Charade - Pink Sands, Pink Chiffon, Cotton Candy
Vintage Chic Scents' Charade
Cold Rating: 7/10
Lit Rating: 8.5/10
Throw Rating: 8.5/10
Overall Rating: 8.5/10; oh. em. gee. My nose doth deceive me! Another scent where I thought it was going to be one thing but ended up being another. Uber perfumey because of the pink chiffon, but managed to get toned down by pink sands, which is weird because that's usually so strong. Good balance of those of these dupes mixed with a sweet cotton candy scent. So wonderful! You need to like perfumey smelling scents for this, IMO. Lasted 7 hours in the bathroom, and I had it going for 2 hours in the bedroom because I moved the warmer elsewhere. Repurchase!
Curse of the Bambino - Until they broke through with a World Series victory in 2004, the Boston Red Sox endured one of the greatest superstitions in sports history: the Curse of the Bambino, which dated to 1918, when the Red Sox made the foolhardy decision to trade Babe Ruth to the Yankees. Includes fresh grass and uplifting citrus.
Vintage Chic Scents' Curse of the Bambino
Cold Rating: 5.5/10
Lit Rating: 5/10
Throw Rating: 6/10
Overall Rating: 5.5/10; something in Curse of the Bambino was off to my nose. I thought I might like it, but no. The combination of a grassy scent and some sort of fruit was not for me at all. I only had it in the warmer about 2 hours before I dumped it out due to not liking it. I love the description, but didn't care for this. It still had a medium strength, though!
Deep Slumber - Pink Lavender Vanilla Honey
Vintage Chic Scents' Deep Slumber
Cold Rating: 6/10
Lit Rating: 7/10
Throw Rating: 6.5/10
Overall Rating: 6.5/10; pink sugar, lavender, vanilla and honey? What could go wrong? Well, nothing, but this was a bit more overwhelming that I expected, a bit more mature smelling. The honey definitely changed the "tone" of this scent. Not for worse, just differently. I enjoyed this, though, and the throw was about a mediumish. Lasted 12 hours in the bedroom 3 different times and now, it's gone!
Elvis in Hawaii - You'll be all shook up when you melt this tropical concoction of coconut leaves and Palm Beach Cooler. (Both are BBW types.)
Vintage Chic Scents' Elvis in Hawaii
Cold Rating: 6/10
Lit Rating: 7/10
Throw Rating: 6/10
Overall Rating: 6/10; very tropical but not as strong as I would have liked it to be. Nice and tropical and coconutty, but nothing special. Love these scent shots, though! Lasted 4 hours in the bathroom and I *might* repurchase it.
