Welcome back to the September Band of Bloggers! It's that time of year again. School is starting back up. Trees are starting to turn. North America is recovering from the apocalypse brought on by the eclipse. Wait, what?
The eclipse that visited most of the United States on August 21st has been described as a once in a lifetime experience. The next eclipse to cover the US from coast to coast will not come until 2045.
That brings us to our question this month. What is your once in a lifetime experience?
My once in a lifetime experience was meeting MMA fighter Frank Mir. We used to go to live MMA shows all the time because the smaller shows were cheaper and not yet monopolized by the UFC. After a WEC fight in San Diego, we were waiting for traffic to die down before we left. On our way out of the venue, we noticed FRANK EFFING MIR walking to the parking lot with his wife. I was *totally* one of those people who freaked the heck out and followed him for a while before asking if we could take a picture together. Sadly, this photo resides on the now perished hard drive of my laptop one laptop ago, but the memory is emblazoned in my mind forever!
If you'd like to play along at home, please feel free to answer this question in the comment section below, and we hope you'll visit these Band of Blogger blogs and help support the blogger community!

I don't know my MMA at all, but my husband is suitably impressed and smiling. Nice celeb meet! :)
ReplyDeleteOutta my depth with MMA fighters but I remember my cousin being a huge fan, both of them and UFC. He was so excited to update us on the competitions when we'd visit, probably twenty years ago now, showing off his regalia and replaying snippets of video from the fights. I respect it, don't understand it, but it's nice to see the enthusiasm for the sport.
ReplyDeleteReally you blog have very interesting and very valuable information about the scented wax melts well done.
