Order of the Odor: Volume 1

Welcome! This will be a monthly highlight of some great wax related posts from the previous month.

What is your ultimate fall scent comprised of?

Answer: My ultimate fall scent has to be something uber spicy, because to me, the spicier, the better. There's a difference between bakery cinnamon and homey cinnamon, though, and I love a good homey cinnamon, something that makes you feel warm and tingly inside, something that gives you a wonderful scent memory! A few scents off the top of my head like this, for me, would be Celtic Moonspice or Amish Quilt (which is often classified as bakery, though it never really smells "bakery" to me). I also like some apple thrown in with my cinnamon scents. To me, this makes a winning pair!

Fragrance Obsessed- Butterfly Lane is back open and trying new things, some work and maybe some need tweaking. Find out Sunnee's musings here.

The Redolent Mermaid- Is your sniffer searching for something unique and complex? With help from her friends, Julie rediscovered a not-so-hidden gem.

  1. Yay for The Order! I feel like I'm on Family Feud, wanting to clap and cheer "Good answer!" Spice is the key to my fall scents too, and I even mentioned that difference in spice types in my original draft of my own answer.

    1. There's something about a really good fall scent, a book, a cup of coffee or tea, and a nice Snuggie to get ya in the mood for fall! Yay for The Order indeed!~ Sorry about the late response!

  2. Moon spice!!!!!!! It is funny how now that I think of it, I should have been able to guess all our favs. :-) I am right there with you. Gaga over a great spiced scent. So comforting.

    1. You're so right about being able to guess our favs! LOL! A great spiced scent is so comforting and wonderful, it signals the beginning of the holidays and the beginning of "colder" weather (not much for us and you though in Cali and Florida, hahaha!)

  3. I just melted the moon spice blend you made for the muffin club. Lauren! It was SO good. Cinnamon in wax can scare me (something happens to it the hotter it gets and longer it melts that reminds me of Big Red gum)--not a big fan of hot cinnamon.
    That moon spice though---I'm reconsidering!

    1. I'm glad you liked it! YAY for moon spice! Cinnamon does tend to linger on the border between Big Red and really nice and smooth, the red hot cinnamon scent is not always appealing! Moon spice tends to be much more mellow and homey than a red hot candy though! Yay for The Order!! :D
