Lightning Round Review #26: Vintage Chic Scents Mash-Up, Part I!

I have been going Vintage Chic crazy and have been melting through my stash so I can order more. Today, I bring you some reviews, new and old! Do you like VCS? What's your favorite scent?!
Annabelle Doll - Cranberry Strawberry Pomegranate. (Created by Karee.)
Vintage Chic Scents' Annabelle Doll
Cold Rating6/10
Lit Rating: 6.5/10
Throw Rating6/10
Overall Rating6/10; couldn't really smell anything I would describe as cranberry in this blend, but it was nice and fruity. I just wish it would have been stronger. Lasted 4.5 hours in the bathroom 2 different times as these leaf tarts are huuuuge. Her strawberry is one of my favorites!
Beverly Hills Hotel (strawberry, raspberry and guava) + Ziegfeld Follies (pomegranate and mulberry)
Vintage Chic Scents' Beverly Hills Follies
Cold Rating6/10
Lit Rating: 6.5/10
Throw Rating6/10
Overall Rating6/10; another blend of a ton of scents that sort of drown each other out almost. It still smells good, but isn't all that strong. Sweet, fruity, but not much else. Medium throw, lasted 3 hours in the bathroom before I wanted something stronger. The strawberry and guava were the most noticeable of all the "ingredients."
Bluebird Cafe - Freshly picked strawberries
Vintage Chic Scents' Bluebird Cafe
Cold Rating8/10
Lit Rating: 8/10
Throw Rating8/10
Overall Rating8/10; such a wonderful and fruity sweet scent! This is nothing but strawberries but it is smashing, baby, yeah! Lovely, strong, lasted 6 hours in the bathroom, even for a 1 ounce scent shot! Always repurchase. This is so nice.
Bride of Frankenstein - Apple Blueberry Wedding Cake
Vintage Chic Scents' Bride of Frankenstein
Cold Rating5/10
Lit Rating: 6/10
Throw Rating6/10
Overall Rating6/10; usually I am not a fan of blueberry, but when mixed with cake and apple, it sort of didn't smell half bad while warming! It seemed like this one ouncer didn't throw as well as the leaf scent I had in this same fragrance, but it was still lasting, about 5-6 hours each time in the bathroom. Not bad! Cute name. Do yourself a favor and watch "Frankenstein," the original with Boris Karloff
Cape Cod was a favorite getaway for high society during the 1950s and 1960s, including John F. Kennedy. This scent, including salty sea spray, sea weather driftwood and a hint of water lily, is the perfect escape.
Vintage Chic Scents' Cape Cod
Cold Rating6/10
Lit Rating: 7/10
Throw Rating6.5/10
Overall Rating6.5/10; what a lovely combination of scents! I love sea salt scents, and the driftwood sort of overpowered in this blend, and it was pretty floral, so I would have liked to smell more of the salt. This was better than I expected while warming, though! Lasted 5.5 hours in the bathroom. Clean, fresh, lovely, will definitely repurchase.
Central Park Snow Globe - Peppermint Creme Noel
Vintage Chic Scents' Central Park Snow Globe
Cold Rating9/10
Lit Rating: 9/10
Throw Rating9/10
Overall Rating9/10; a gift from the wonderful Jacqui at The Scholarly Nail, I LOVED THIS SCENT! It was so minty and creamy sweetness, but the blend was absolutely perfect. This was a huge snowflake shape and I melted the whole thing and I swear it lasted over 2 days. It got lower in throw, but it was still lasting! SO good. Yum. Always repurchase!
Charade - Pink Sands, Pink Chiffon, Cotton Candy
Vintage Chic Scents' Charade
Cold Rating7/10
Lit Rating: 8.5/10
Throw Rating8.5/10
Overall Rating8.5/10; oh. em. gee. My nose doth deceive me! Another scent where I thought it was going to be one thing but ended up being another. Uber perfumey because of the pink chiffon, but managed to get toned down by pink sands, which is weird because that's usually so strong. Good balance of those of these dupes mixed with a sweet cotton candy scent. So wonderful! You need to like perfumey smelling scents for this, IMO. Lasted 7 hours in the bathroom, and I had it going for 2 hours in the bedroom because I moved the warmer elsewhere. Repurchase!
Curse of the Bambino - Until they broke through with a World Series victory in 2004, the Boston Red Sox endured one of the greatest superstitions in sports history: the Curse of the Bambino, which dated to 1918, when the Red Sox made the foolhardy decision to trade Babe Ruth to the Yankees. Includes fresh grass and uplifting citrus.
Vintage Chic Scents' Curse of the Bambino
Cold Rating5.5/10
Lit Rating: 5/10
Throw Rating6/10
Overall Rating5.5/10; something in Curse of the Bambino was off to my nose. I thought I might like it, but no. The combination of a grassy scent and some sort of fruit was not for me at all. I only had it in the warmer about 2 hours before I dumped it out due to not liking it. I love the description, but didn't care for this. It still had a medium strength, though!
Deep Slumber - Pink Lavender Vanilla Honey
Vintage Chic Scents' Deep Slumber
Cold Rating6/10
Lit Rating: 7/10
Throw Rating: 6.5/10
Overall Rating6.5/10; pink sugar, lavender, vanilla and honey? What could go wrong? Well, nothing, but this was a bit more overwhelming that I expected, a bit more mature smelling. The honey definitely changed the "tone" of this scent. Not for worse, just differently. I enjoyed this, though, and the throw was about a mediumish. Lasted 12 hours in the bedroom 3 different times and now, it's gone!
Elvis in Hawaii - You'll be all shook up when you melt this tropical concoction of coconut leaves and Palm Beach Cooler. (Both are BBW types.)
Vintage Chic Scents' Elvis in Hawaii
Cold Rating6/10
Lit Rating: 7/10
Throw Rating6/10
Overall Rating: 6/10; very tropical but not as strong as I would have liked it to be. Nice and tropical and coconutty, but nothing special. Love these scent shots, though! Lasted 4 hours in the bathroom and I *might* repurchase it.

  1. CENTRAL PARK SNOW GLOOOOOBE! I am hoarding mine like there's no tomorrow. Actually, gonna try and keep it until Christmas :-o

Great reviews! Kirby has some great blending going on. Huge fan if Cape Cod, Moonstone and Pin Curl & Finger Wave.

    1. Moonstone is my FAVORITE, oh man, it's so good! Pin Curls and Finger Waves is awesome, too. Some of her scents are up there in my top 20. Hoard central park until she makes more, I hope she realizes that it's fantastic any time of the year, not just in winter!!

  2. I think I got a small Central Park Snow Globe from someone. I can't remember now, but it was one of the minty or Christmas-y ones and it was one I melted in my melting funk where I wasn't paying attention and wasn't doing reviews on any of them. Kicking myself now.

I remember talking about Annabelle Doll when I had it, saying that I don't think a creepy doll smells like that. LOL

Vintage Chic Scents needs to get bumped up on my list to order from.

    1. Central Park Snow Globe is a good one! I may have an extra scent shot, if I do, I will send you one! :)

Annabelle DEFINITELY doesn't smell like that creepy doll. The doll smells like attics, WD-40 and sadness.

VCS is great and you should order from her again, but her restocks can be a hassle.
