Project Wax #2, update #1A!

Well, it has been a week since I started my new Project Wax box and I have successfully been tempted no less than 9498275987465946971061405 times. The life and times of a wax addict is hard. Here are the reviews for everything I melted this week.

I'm going to do these posts a bit differently and just give a numerical rating and comment on warm/cold throw and scent...there's A LOT here and I don't want it to be too long of an entry (even though it probably will be).
Granny's Kountry Candles' Ooey Gooey Smore's
-3/10: this was awful. Super artificial chocolate scent mixed with sweet graham crackers, but not even that could save it. It took an hour to melt this completely and didn't last longer than 2 hours in the warmer. MEH. Not a repurchase.
The Bathing Garden's Serendipity Cream Pie (melted 2 cubes on two separate occasions this week)
-7/10: AMAZING scent! If you like serendipity, you NEED to try this! Very coconutty serendipity, but not super bakery; possibly small hints of crust. Decent throw, but nothing amazing. Love!
Ava's Country Cupboard's Mulled Cider
-6/10: smells like Trader Joe's apple cider. I wanted a fall infusion, so I broke the gingerbread men up, 3 in the bedroom and 3 in the kitchen. It was spicy, but the throw was just medium. Liked this a lot!
Candles From The Keeping Room's Suede
-7/10: Very interesting! Musky on cold sniff which leads to a much more mature patchouli scent while warming. Think men's shaving cream almost! SUPER strong throw, too...my friends came over the day I melted this and it still lingered when we got home. I liked it quite a bit, but I wouldn't purchase.
K's Kreations Puckered Bliss
8/10: I melted this 4 times throughout the house...I love this scent. It's like a lemon pie/bakery scent and it's got a decent throw, too.  Loving K's Kreations to the max right now.
I really love Kathy's brittle, it's SO GORGEOUS. ~*Rainbow~*

Streetman Candle Co.'s Island Grapefruit
-7/10: a really cleaner grapefruit scent, really enjoyed this because I happened to be cleaning the day I melted it. Nice, big throw, lasted about 5.5 hours.
The Bathing Garden's Lemon Curd & Rose Milk
-10/10: THE PINNACLE. The best. The GREATEST scent of all times. I love this blend, it's luscious and sexy and brilliant and I am obsessed. Read my thoughts on this here. Melted 2 cubes and it lasted a whopping 13 hours. WHAT! Medium throw, but it's good enough that it makes up for it. Ugh. Amazing.
Heavenleigh Apothecary's Sugar Cookie Crunch Fruit Loops
-5.5/10: Sugar cookie gets lost because fruit loops is so much more potent. Smells great on cold sniff, but it's basically a fruity pebbles type of scent while warming. Would have better in a small room.
Jaimie Lauren Cupcakery and Confections In Wax's Gourmet Sugar Cookie
-6.5/10: So good! Great stand alone scent, not overly buttery, nice and sugary. One tiny little heart tart packed a punch! Liked this a lot.
Ava's Country Cupboard's I Dream In Pink
-2/10: I don't know if it's because this was too old or if it's because it just stinks, but this was disgusting and awful. Musty, gross, I couldn't even finish melting it, so I replaced the last tart with...
Lasting Scent Candles Candy Cane Kisses
-6/10: this was light, but it was sweet enough to keep me interesting. Melted this at night and it lasted 8.5 hours, definitely put me to sleep.

Sniff My Tarts Sweet Lavender Marshmallow Cake
-7/10: Very sweet and cakey! Lavender is muted in this. When scent was entirely gone, a sour note came through around 4:00am, grossness. Lasted 8 hours, otherwise.

This is part one of my melts for the week!

  1. Bummer about the S'mores one. Looks real!

I think you forgot a link in the Lemon Curd paragraph.

Candy Cane Kisses...I'm guessing is vanilla mint or something? Just the name has me all excited for the holidays. I'm trying to NOT go gungho on fall/holiday scents too early this year.

    1. Let me know how you feel about lemon curd and rose milk, too, I'd like to know if I'm the lone ranger when it comes to that scent.

  3. That Granny's Smore is so cute, bummer about the smell. EVERY time I'm tempted to order from them I read a poor review.

    Great melts :)

    1. Granny's is always having sales, a few every week if I'm not mistaken, I can't see a $25 order hurting anything to experiment myself. Not sure if it's the warmer or what, but it wasn't just one scent, it was tons.

The S'more is so cute, a lot of her melts are awesome looking, but yeah...the scent often suffers.

  4. could that s'mores look anymore realistic?

I also have mixed feelings on Granny's. Not in a rush to order but curious about them because of their huge selection and constant prizes on FB.

keep up the great work on your project. :)

    1. Those s'mores are so realistic, Josh almost ate it! LOL!

But yeah, I've not had good luck with Granny's. Not to say don't try her stuff, but yeah...I also don't like the fact that there are so many consultants trying to get people to buy 9e827y89r54205987405987435 times on every wax group. Ehhh.

      Thanks, Sunnee! :)
