Review: Granny's Kountry Candles Skinny Bitch

There are a few tart vendors out there in cyberspace that do their own thing, name things differently, oddly, some might even say offensively...if you take offence to this, you might want to find a different blog.
It's no secret that Granny's Kountry Candles and I have been at odds with one another. I melt something great, then melt something awful. This was just weird. I don't know the notes on this, but it was super floral (jasmine, I think) with a strange and fruity undertone. Even now as I smell it, I get a very artificial berry smell. Also, what does that have to do with being a "skinny bitch?" Do larger people not enjoy flowers or fruits? Because I'm big and let me tell you, I LIKE THEM BOTH. I'm not offended or anything, not at all, in fact, I welcome oddly named wax! I'm just sayin', that's the thought that went through my mind while melting this. It gave Josh a weird sinus problem, so I turned off the warmer after about 2 hours. I don't know...it's looking less and less like I will be reordering from GKC any darn time soon.

Granny's Kountry Candles Skinny Bitch
Cold Rating5/10; alright, this one has potential...nice floral scent, but weird and awkward artificial berry...hmmm....let's see....
Lit Rating4/10; I had high hopes...but nope. The combination of that floral note and the fruit was not pleasing. In fact, it wasn't even that strong and we still didn't like it.
Throw Rating3/10; there was barely anything, everyone once in a while you'd get a faint smell of jasmine, but that's it.
Overall Rating: 4/10; what am I going to do? I have a bunch of tarts left from this company and I almost don't want to melt them...they have just been so disappointing! Oy!

  1. Host a giveaway with what you have left.

I wonder too sometimes, how people relate scents to names they give them. I mean, yeah, sometimes names should be changed ... like when you have 12 different scents together and the name becomes Vanilla Caramel Maple Butterscotch Lemon Toffee Graham Cracker Cookie Ice Cream Waffle Cone Bread. LOL - yeah, shorten it up to something like Diabetes Danger. But to give something peppermint a new name of Taylor Swift just because you like her, doesn't work.

    Done rambling.

    1. Deb, you crack me up! Your ramblings are exactly how I feel...what does Skinny Bitch have to do with floral fruit tarts!?

I have toyed with the idea of doing a giveaway...need to get more stuff put together for it though!
